Pangkor

8/01/13 to 12/01/13 - After our jungle exploits we were in need of some relaxation.  As our east coast plans had been scuppered by the monsoon, we headed to the west coast to spend the night in Lumut before catching a ferry the next morning to Pulau Pangkor.  This was an island with 3 or 4 villages, a couple of exclusive resorts and a fishing port. We spent a few days there relaxing on the beach, swimming with some different coloured fish and feeding bananas to friendly hornbills.

We also canoed out to Coral Island (and Flora swam back) to do some snorkelling, but the visibility wasn't great.  The food on the island was good, and we enjoyed Fish & Chips (with Barracuda), and unusual barbequed fish (we were told it was called Chickenfish, and it was tasty).

After a few days soaking up the sun (and the odd bit of rain), we headed back to KL ready to catch a night train to Singapore.  All the sleeper berths were sold out, so we had to make do with some standard seats.
